A Cozy Night at Si Nonna’s: Pizza, Croquettes, and a Surprisingly Heartwarming Gelato

Recently, I visited Si Nonna’s again. I hadn’t planned on going back, but it just happened. It was a very cold night, and I was craving pizza, so we decided to go there. This time, we ordered pizza number 4, which consisted of fior di latte mozzarella, ricotta cheese, blue cheese, aged parmesan, homemade jalapeño salsa, homemade cherry tomato confit, fresh basil, and EVOO. We also ordered mozzarella and jalapeño croquettes.

First, the croquettes arrived. They were okay, but not great. The filling was small, and there wasn’t enough of it, so I wasn’t particularly impressed.

Then, our pizza came. We added a little more olive oil and tried to do a cheese pull, but it didn’t work out as expected. However, the taste of the pizza was really good — flavorful and satisfying.

Although we were pretty full, there’s always room for dessert, right? I saw gelato and decided to try some. I ordered Sicilian pistachio gelato. It turned out to be delicious — so tasty from the very first bite. I still crave it! However, I had certain expectations, like the ones you see in food vlogs on YouTube, but it wasn’t quite like that. It was just a simple scoop for 250 INR.

While I enjoyed the taste, in that moment, I reminded myself not to judge a book by its cover — the saying is true. I know for sure I’ll crave it again. We paid 1,498 INR in total, but that gelato won my heart.

Xoxo 💓

Enjoying the day before the trip to Malvan (24 march 2024)

Today, we are going to Kolhapur at night by train because we have plans for Malvan, but before that, we are going to spend a day in Pune. However, as usual, my boy was late to wake up, which made us late in Pune. Consequently, our BBQ reservation got cancelled, and I was upset because I had been wanting to eat BBQ for a long time. Nevertheless, he arrived by 1:30, and then we went directly to watch the movie 'Madgaon Express'🎥, which was funny and humorous. Well, we had planned two movies for the day, as we didn't know what else to do for the whole day. The next show was at 6 pm. So, now the problem was that since he got late, we hadn't had lunch, and both of us were very hungry. Luckily, we had an hour before the second movie started, so we went to Si Nonna's for the first time to have some pizza. Initially, we thought of having roti sabzi, but I was not in the mood for that, so I persuaded him😀😀.  Upon entering Nonna's, we checked the menu and didn't un...
