A Day in Pune Before My Bangalore Trip – Food, Movie & Night Train Journey

A Day in Pune Before My Bangalore Trip – Food, Movie & Night Train Journey

Today marked the start of our journey to Bangalore, though the actual trip kicks off tomorrow. With our train from Pune Junction scheduled for 8:30 PM, we had a full day to make the most of. So we decided to spend it indulging in good food, catching a movie, and simply enjoying some quality time together before the journey began.

🌆 A Chill Day in Pune Before the Journey

Since we had several hours before our train, we planned a relaxed day around the city. It felt nice to not rush and just go with the flow, knowing we had an exciting trip ahead.

🍲 Lunch at Mandala Hotpot – A Filling Start

We kicked things off with lunch at Mandala Hotpot, where we treated ourselves to some delicious Korean hotpot. The flavors were absolutely on point, and the portion size was generous enough to leave us completely stuffed.

It took us nearly two hours to finish (totally worth it!), and if you enjoy Korean food in Pune, this place is definitely worth trying.

🎬 Killing Time with a Movie (Mufasa Experience)

After lunch, we decided to catch a movie. The nearest theatre mostly had shows for Pushpa 2, which we had already watched, so we chose Mufasa instead.

The only issue? The show wasn’t until 3 PM, leaving us with a two-hour wait. Since the mall didn’t have proper seating, we ended up sitting at McDonald’s just to pass the time.

Even after that, the delays didn’t end. The previous show ran late, and we had to wait another 30 minutes before entering. And of course, the movie didn’t start immediately thanks to a long stream of ads.

But once it finally began, it was totally worth it! The theatre was almost full, and the audience energy made the experience even better.

🍽️ Dinner at Banana Leaf – South Indian Feast

With the movie done, we still had around three hours before our train. So dinner felt like the best plan, especially since we didn’t want to feel hungry during the journey.

We headed to Banana Leaf, a South Indian restaurant, and had an amazing meal. I ordered a flavorful Mysore sada dosa, while Bubbles went for veg coconut curry with rice — and honestly, it was absolutely divine.

If you’re looking for good South Indian food in Pune, this place is definitely worth checking out.

☕ Coffee Plan That Didn’t Happen 😅

Before dinner, we briefly thought of grabbing coffee at Third Wave Coffee. But after seeing the prices, we quickly changed our minds.

Seriously, the cost of one cup there could probably fund two months’ worth of homemade coffee!

🚇 Heading to Pune Junction

After dinner, we hopped on the metro and made our way to Pune Junction. The train was initially showing as delayed, but it ended up arriving just five minutes late.

That’s exactly why we always make it a point to be on time — you never know when a “late” train might show up almost on schedule.

🚆 Boarding the Night Train to Bangalore

Once we boarded and settled into our seats, it finally hit us — the journey had officially begun. There’s always something exciting about train travel, especially when it marks the start of a new trip.

😅 Small Mistakes We Made

Looking back, we did make a couple of small mistakes that could have easily been avoided.

We only carried one water bottle between us, and later realized the train didn’t have a pantry. That meant no easy access to food or even refilling water during the journey.

Definitely not the best situation to be in!

💡 Tips for Pune to Bangalore Train Travel

If you’re planning a Pune to Bangalore train journey, here are a few tips from our experience:

  • Always carry enough water for the journey

  • Don’t rely completely on pantry services

  • Keep snacks or light food with you

  • Reach the station on time, even if the train shows delayed

  • Keep your essentials easily accessible

🎯 Final Thoughts – The Journey Begins!

And just like that, with a mix of excitement, good memories from the day, and a few minor inconveniences, we were finally on our way to Bangalore.

The journey had officially begun — and we couldn’t wait for what came next!

The Day My Nepal Trip Got Cancelled by Just One Message

From Mumbai adventures to a cancelled train, here’s the emotional rollercoaster we never saw coming. Read on to discover how our journey to Nepal ended before it even began. Today is 13th April — the day our long-awaited journey to Nepal was supposed to begin. We had planned to travel by train, packed with excitement and dreams. But everything came crashing down with just one heartbreaking message . The day started with so much hope. I woke up early, completed my last-minute packing, although I was feeling a bit uneasy. Out of nowhere, I started coughing and even vomited. Still, I pulled myself together, prayed like every day, took blessings, and booked a cab to the bus station. We boarded a bus to Mumbai, costing ₹950 for two people. By 5 PM, we reached Dadar, Mumbai. Since our train to Nepal was scheduled at 10 PM, we thought of exploring a few places to kill time. Unfortunately, all the places I had planned to visit remained a dream because the taxi drivers were charging crazy amo...

Burger Byte Cafe

Went to this substitute place situated near fc road, Pune. It was too much crowded but we got some place to sit.    Another substitute for Camp and Kp burger, nearby FC road. One-time visit to try the burger. The veg burger was good, but it wasn't even fitting in hand even though it was cut into two pieces. The food is affordable with a large quantity, but the hygiene is lacking. The seating area is congested and crowded, needing more space for seating. The cheeseburger only cost us Rs.75/- Overall experience: 3.5/5 Location:  Shop no 26, Madhu Vrindavan Society, Near, JP Trivedi Road, Sud Nagar, Shivajinagar, Pune, Maharashtra 411018
