June 15, 2026 | Protecting My Peace
Today was Monday.
I woke up early, around 5 a.m., and honestly, it felt like one of those mornings where everything just flowed nicely.
I finished my workout, spent some quality time reading the Bhagavad Gita, read the newspaper, went for a walk, and got ready for the day. There's something satisfying about getting so many things done before most people have even started their morning.
Since it was Monday, I also visited the Shiva temple.
I offered sugarcane juice and spent a few quiet moments there before heading back home. I always feel a little calmer after visiting a temple. Life may not change, but my mind feels lighter.
For breakfast, I had poha and tea.
Now, if I'm being honest, carb-heavy breakfasts are not really my favorite. I usually prefer something with a bit more protein, but it was good enough and filled me up.
After that, I finished my work and spent some time thinking about something I've noticed lately.
It feels like until you've achieved something significant, some people will always have opinions, make fun of you, or say things that can bring your confidence down.
Maybe that's just how life works.
I know myself well enough to admit that I don't handle those situations very well. Instead of arguing or proving a point, I usually choose to keep my distance.
Protecting my peace has become more important than winning every conversation.
The funny thing is that these are often the same people who laugh at you one day and come looking for help the next.
Life is strange like that.
For lunch, I decided to treat myself a little and had soya chaap.
And honestly, that's usually how my plans of eating perfectly healthy fall apart.
One delicious meal and suddenly all my healthy intentions disappear.
Later, I sat down to edit my vlog.
Or at least I tried to.
Because the electricity decided to disappear right when I was ready to work.
Perfect timing.
Between the power cut, the heat, and the fact that it still hasn't rained, my patience was definitely being tested today.
At this point, I feel like the entire city is waiting for the monsoon.
To make myself feel better, I had a cold coffee along with some chips.
Was it necessary?
Probably not.
Did I enjoy it?
Absolutely.
Sometimes you just need something cold and crunchy.
In the evening, I stepped out to buy fruits and vegetables.
I picked up apples, pears, guavas, and a few leafy vegetables.
There's something oddly satisfying about coming home with fresh produce, even if grocery shopping isn't exactly the most exciting activity in the world.
The last meal of my day was thalipeeth with curd.
Simple, filling, and comforting.
And just when I thought the day was ending on a healthy note, Mom came home with ice cream.
So obviously, I had some.
No regrets.
After that, I called it a day and went to bed early.
Looking back, today wasn't perfect.
There were power cuts, heat, annoying people, and still no rain.
But there was also a peaceful morning, a temple visit, good food, a workout, and a reminder that protecting your peace is sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself.
And I think that's a pretty good way to end a Monday.
