Grocery Shopping Haul with Mom | June 11, 2026 Daily Diary

June 11, 2026 | A Very Successful Dmart Trip

Today, I actually had quite a lot of work planned.

But in the morning, Mom asked if I could come with her for grocery shopping because we were running low on a lot of things at home.

And honestly, how was I supposed to say no?

So I quickly got ready, hopped onto the vehicle, and off we went to none other than Dmart.

Why Dmart?

Because it's budget-friendly, and let's be honest, most Indian families have a special relationship with Dmart.

The first surprise of the day came right at the entrance.

Usually, we're supposed to keep our bags at the luggage counter. This time, however, they gave us a giant Dmart bag, packed our luggage inside it, sealed it, and handed it back to us.

It was the first time I'd seen them do that.

Anyways, we started shopping.

And by shopping, I mean spending almost two hours looking at literally everything.

We reached around 9 a.m. and still managed to spend forever inside.

The funny thing is that we weren't even buying most of the things we were looking at.

Looking is free, after all.

One of my favorite purchases was three loose T-shirts.

They were breathable, comfortable, exactly the kind of clothes I love wearing, and they were only ₹149 each.

Seriously.

I had to double-check the price because the quality was actually good.

I also picked up some pants and shirts for Dad, along with a few clothes for my brother, who is apparently too lazy to go shopping himself.

Apart from clothes, we bought all the usual household essentials—soap, detergent powder, detergent liquid, oil, cheese, butter, curd, bread, shampoo, and plenty of groceries.

Of course, we also bought chips and drinks.

Now, I know they're not exactly healthy.

But every day around 4 or 5 p.m., I suddenly feel the urge to eat something outside, and somehow chips always seem to find their way into the trolley.

I know I need to work on that.

One step at a time.

On the way back home, Mom asked if I wanted misal.

As if there was ever going to be another answer besides yes.

So we stopped and picked up a parcel from Osarwadi Chi Misal.

But then came the most stressful two minutes of my day.

When we got home, I noticed I had the pav with me, but where was the rest of the parcel?

Before I could panic properly, Mom casually said that I had probably forgotten it at the shop.

My heart genuinely stopped for a second.

Then she started laughing.

Turns out it was a prank.

And honestly, seeing her laugh made the whole thing worth it.

That misal became my breakfast, and it was absolutely worth the mini heart attack.

The rest of the afternoon was spent working.

Although, after eating misal, I became unbelievably sleepy.

I could have easily slept for a few hours.

But somehow, I resisted the temptation and managed to stay awake.

Later, I did a few household chores, folded clothes, washed some utensils, and even made a ragi cake.

Because why not?

Before I knew it, evening had arrived.

I was still pretty full from the day, but I didn't want to wake up hungry in the middle of the night, so I made myself a simple bowl of dal khichdi without tadka.

Nothing fancy, but light, comforting, and probably one of the healthier choices I made today.

By the end of the day, I was completely exhausted.

Not the dramatic kind of tired.

Just the satisfying kind that comes after being productive, spending time with family, getting things done, and crossing little tasks off your list.

So for once, I didn't stay up late.

I went to bed early and happily gave in to sleep.

And honestly, after a day like today, I think I earned it.

Time to go back, Spent half day in Kolhapur 29 March 2024

Our Malvan trip ends here. We had breakfast and then headed to Kolhapur, and later Pune. Initially, we had a train scheduled for the night from Kolhapur to Pune, but it got cancelled. Therefore, we decided to stay in Kolhapur for a day. Since there were no buses available directly from Malvan to Kolhapur, we opted to go to Kankavli first, where we could find buses to Kolhapur. We arrived in Kolhapur in the afternoon, checked into the hotel, freshened up, ordered misal, which we thought would be spicy but turned out to be good, and then proceeded straight to the Mahalaxmi Mandir. Due to it being Friday, there was a large crowd, and we ended up waiting in line for about 20-30 minutes. After having our darshan, we returned to the hotel as it was already 8pm. We had a light dinner at the hotel and then went to sleep, as our bodies needed to recharge after thoroughly enjoying our time in Malvan. Xoxo ❤️  Gujjugirl

A Cozy Night at Si Nonna’s: Pizza, Croquettes, and a Surprisingly Heartwarming Gelato

Recently, I visited Si Nonna’s again. I hadn’t planned on going back, but it just happened. It was a very cold night, and I was craving pizza, so we decided to go there. This time, we ordered pizza number 4, which consisted of fior di latte mozzarella, ricotta cheese, blue cheese, aged parmesan, homemade jalapeño salsa, homemade cherry tomato confit, fresh basil, and EVOO. We also ordered mozzarella and jalapeño croquettes. First, the croquettes arrived. They were okay, but not great. The filling was small, and there wasn’t enough of it, so I wasn’t particularly impressed. Then, our pizza came. We added a little more olive oil and tried to do a cheese pull, but it didn’t work out as expected. However, the taste of the pizza was really good — flavorful and satisfying. Although we were pretty full, there’s always room for dessert, right? I saw gelato and decided to try some. I ordered Sicilian pistachio gelato. It turned out to be delicious — so tasty from the very first bite. I stil...
